Hi! My dad got big into biking when I was in high school sometime. He does the lots of spandex, super-lightweight carbon kind of stuff. When I was 17 I needed a PE credit and so spent a summer training with him and did a 60-mile ride at the end. Honestly, I hated every minute of it! In college I had a bike that I rode around sometimes, but I was mostly in pretty bad shape. I spent my summers working in the warehouse of the bike parts dotcom my dad runs, though, and this summer, after my graduation, I asked for a new bike for my birthday (steel frame, fenders, rack...). I started riding it on errands, then to work (9 miles each way)... felt better and better each time. Soon I was biking 25+ miles a day just to get around town. Now I'm selling my car. Still don't like spandex, though.

Oh, and I have a blog here: https://log.whyiamnotdying.net
I just got back from seven weeks bumming around Europe, though, so that's what's up there most recently.

Hi stacia! I actually said hi to you over in Living Car Free, but that won't stop me from saying hi again .

You don't really need spandex, except for really long trips where it does come in nice.

Welcome (again) to BF!
