info on a classic hercules 3spd courier
i have a pretty nice old hercules 3spd courier. Sturmy archer hub rear, and a sturmy archer generator hub up front. chromed chain guard and fenders. custom rack. Paint is purple and in good condition the decals have held up well. it is a Nottingham built model.
Im just curious if anyone has run into this model before its the first ive seen and it seems to be oneof there high end offerings of the time.
also if you have a good reference site where i might find info would be cool also!

Welcome to the Forums!
Sheldon Brown has a bit on Hercules. If you can get the dates off the hub(s) and pictures it helps a great deal in identifying the years.

well i wish but its in parts cuz im steel wooling all the chrome and polishing it. also fully overhauling the parts and rebuilding the wheels.

I have a couple of those. One of the AG's is getting built up into a wheel for my beater the FG is going on my club racer with 700c wheels.Aaron

I believe the original Hercules built Hercules were made in Birmingham. They had the Hercumatic 3 speed thumb shifters and hubs. Looked just like SA. Any Herc made in Nottingham with an SA hub was probably Raleigh built.
