I've put holes in a couple of rear tires due to normal skip and skid stopping. Can anyone reccomend a tire that wears slowly?

no tire withstands skidding so spending 40 bucks on any tire that will be destroyed in 2 months is silly.

Best suggestion yet. Brake pads are cheaper, lost longer and offer considerably more stopping power than skidding through tire after tire does.

My tarck bike is plenty cost effective and efficient. I would imagine it will last a long time too.

BTW, it's even more efficient with a front brake. Just sayin'...

I'm running a 52 ring with a 17t cog, and I skip ambidextrously, which gives me 34 skid points.

I have a brake and use it, but would still like to have some strong tires.

everwears will crack on the side walls but you won't skid threw them but the side walls will crack quite soon.

i've got a month or two, maybe three on my everwears with no sign of side crackings

happened to me too. seeing as they cost about the same, gatorskins are an infinitely better tire.

but i'm still vouching for the seca. those and armadillos have been my longest lasting tires, but armadillos feel like crap on some roads.

if u are using the tire to stop, it should last longer than 2 months imho. if u are using the tire to stunt...then that's a different story

Skidding with a brake or skidding without a brake will have the same effect on a tire.

Aww, you're so cute when you're deliberately obtuse!

If you can train your hand to operate a brake, you won't have to skid everywhere like a six-year-old with his first big wheel and your tires will last about seven gazillion times longer.

I realize a lot of people here aren't qualified to operate a brake, but it's worth the time to learn.
