Don't you hate it when....

....the guys you ride with who choose to ride a single speed complain about only having one gear! Or that they would have done better with a geared bike, etc, etc,

I make excuses all the time when in reality I just suck. And I have gears. That's why I ride with people who suck more than me.

I categorically hate riding with (and reading posts by) people who complain. Singlespeed's got nothing to do with it.

Bikes: Road: Trek 1.5 (2007). Mountain: Santa Cruz Chameleon (2008). Beater: Peugeot Recorde du Monde (1850)

Why do people go for single speed? Reliability, or... 'cause they want to be cool (in their minds)?

When I ride a fixie with a group of road riders, I never blame the bike.
Ill admit if I'm having a hard time, like 25+mph winds a few weeks ago,
but I never say 'would've could've.... etc"

I blame everything but myself for my riding:

"That drop has a sketchy take off."
"The landing looks off camber."
"It's too slick out here, don't want to risk it."
