V-brake help

Looking to change out the really terrible cantis on the wife's old MTB. Seeing as it doesn't have disc mounts V-brakes are a good option. I know I'll have to swap levers also. Any recomendations for decent set that won't break the bank.

If you can find good used Shimano XT brakes and levers from the mid-late 90s that would be very cheap and the quality is excellent. I've ridden on these since 1997 and never had any problems.
