french headset
Hi hope all are good.... I have an old Jeunet french bike that i want to change the headset in...
I see in my search that really as long as i have the french threaded locknuts I can use say Italian races..?
i before i try it would just like to know if this will work....

Hi thanks for the info... I have the threaded adjustable race, spacer and top locknut....
I think i see what you mean and what i need so thanks a ton...
i have a spare headset (english) and would rather use what i can from it instead of buying all new when it is new..

One possibility. If the original headset has a bad lower cup race and crown race (these are usually the first parts to be damaged beyond use) but the top cup and races are still ok, you could just replace the lower cup and crown race and keep the upper assembly. That avoids the threading issues.
