NYC bike shops, bars, etc.
I'm going to be in NYC from tomorrow to sunday, interviewing for med school (Albert Einstein) and getting a feel for the area. For those of you who live there, what bike shops, bars, restaurants would you recommend? I'll be in the Bronx and probably around Manhattan a bit.

good luck with albert einstein. they accept a lot of people of color so i love them. u must have had a strong mcat. ahhh but this has nothing to do with bikes.
when ur in manhattan, take the west side bike path all the way down to the teens, cross over manhattan to the east and head over to trackstar i suppose.

there are plenty of good shops uptown...gotta know where they at!!
where there are delivery men, there will be hood mechanics to keep them plushed up, rolling fresh
now, why do you want to go to a bike shop? to look at hipster gear, get your bike fixed, buy random bike stuff?
for hipster gear, true, hit up 2nd ave above houston or trackstar or something....
otherwise, take a stroll on broadway, westchester ave, damn...we got that!
shiet, bars, restaurants!...we got!...what you trying to do, dance to, eat!!!??

metro (the best one): canal & watts
trackstar: eldridge & houston
continuum: 12st & av b
toga: 63st & 3av / 65st & west end
gotham (elitest pricks): chambers & west bway
nyc velo: 4st & 2av
manhattan velo (carlos' shop): 17st & 3av
margin of error is one block, i'm going off the top of my head.

Hit up Nick's Pizza on Gunhill or LJubo's Pizza on Westchester Square. Either one will do you right. There is a cool LBS right near Ljubos, not too much fixed/track stuff but a long time Bronx shop.
P.S. I was born in Einstein hospital.
