To be honest I always hated the look of these things when I saw them on the road, But after reading all the comments I'm changing my opinion, I guess its because i have never tried one, Like any parent I just want the safest option , thanks

She was about 5 yrs., 3 months. She is tall for her age and probably could have started using the trail a bike earlier, but she's very timid on her regular bicycle, so I eased her into this gradually. (She won't even entertain letting me take her training wheels off her own bicycle.) Once she got the hang of the trail a bike, which only took about 2 short rides, she loves it. And, she is actually able to pedal enough that I can really feel the difference when we take a hill! BTW: on one of the other discussions/threads, I read that Adams is making a smaller trail a bike than this one that might work for your three year old. We have a three and a half year old, too, June baby, but I know she is way too immature to get on a trail a bike. But, each kid is different, as are both of mine! :-D

Ok , I brought one of these things for Miss 3 1/2, I lowered the seat as far as I could I then trimmed a inch of the seat stem as it was plenty long, I also added some blocks to the pedals and she can just touch them but not really interested in pedaling just wanted to go for the ride she absolutely loved it ,

I bought mine from bike island. $120 for the seven speed with free shipping. Not sure if it's the same model, but it's a folder and a great trail-a-bike.

One thing that really sets the trail-a-bike apart is the seat post hinge. It puts much less stress on the seat post of the main bike. BTW great deal I paid about $135 for ours.

Also, check craigslist.org. I picked one up for $60.
