Pleased to meet you

Hi there, I'm new to road cycling. I'm in my early 40's and come from a dirt bike background. I used to slog a steel framed '89 mtb up and down the local hills to try and keep fit for enduro. Recently my wife started training for triathlon and bought herself a new road bike. Upside was that she bought one for me too. I've had it about three weeks now and absolutely love it. I've done a couple of 50 km bunch rides to get into the swing of things, and a couple of 25 - 30 km mid weekers. I'm looking forward to progressing, and learning what I can from you guys along the way.

Hello arjay125, what a great thing for your wife to do! I see she got you an Avanti Giro '07. What did she get for herself?

Welcome to BF!

Hi East Hill, she got a Giro too. Matching. The only difference is the missing bar tape and gear shift cap on mine. I dropped it on the 2nd outing, locking the front wheel on an off-camber turn at the bottom of a steep descent in the wet. Live and learn!

Ooops! At least you did not completely wreck your bike. Cool that she got a Giro too . You will both enjoy the ride!
