The Bourne Century +

I want to be outside riding my bike badly today, but the temps and roads are not going to let it happen.

So --- I am creating my own century on roller on this cold and crappy Sunday. It will be called "The Bourne Century +" I will ride over 100 miles by watch the three Bourne movies. It should be around 110 miles by the time I am done.

The first movie is over "The Bourne Identity"

2 movies to go and I will post after each. I feel great and just under 40 miles of wonderful rollers.

Fun target - I'd imagine it may go something like this

mile 1 to 40 = who am I?

mile 41 to 80 = why am I here?

mile 81 to 110 = I need to finish this.

Great Idea, but I can't stand the trainer for more than 30 mins, but have done it for an hr in the past. Are the rollers better at in door training as far as keeping ones mind more occupied? Maybe it's the possibility of falling off that keeps you paying more attention. I would shift to rollers if it reduced the boring factor.

I liked the third one best, which should be the motivation you need to finish. Great idea!!

My advice is move south. You won't regret it.

I am done with #2 "The Bourne Supremecy" and only have a little bit left to ride to make the 100, so it will be definitely more than a century.

Still feeling good and I ate a small wrap and a few chips before riding for the second movie. I am on water bottle # 4 and still sweating a lot.

Rollers take more attention, but you still get a sore butt. I have never been on a trainer, but unless I spend a lot of money on a trainer that will let me ride hills and watch the DVD to follow it and track everything, I will stay with my $50.00 rollers from craigslist.

I could do the star wars again, and maybe a Harry Potter, but I am really hoping for some warmer weather to clear the streets so I can ride outside.

We will move south in 3 to 5 years after our daughters are out of high school and possibly college. Wife will be done with RN and should be able to allow us to relocate anywhere in the country.

I did a lot of trainer miles watching 24. It's the perfect show for that sort of thing.

OK, I finished the last one and ended up with 115 miles with the time of the movies and some of the extras I watched.

Don't feel too bad actually. The miles were not to bad and I only had breaks between movies, except the last movie, I paused the movie to do some stretching, because it felt like my legs were getting a little bit tight.

I stretched for about 20 minutes after the last movie, at a little supper and then took a good shower and I feel human again.

Will I do this again? Not until next winter, unless we have a lot more snow and crappy weather.

We should have 24 and my wife got South Park also. I am not much of a TV person after finding exercise again in my life, so I would have to start with the first season of pretty much anything to have a clue about the show.

Do you ride rollers or a trainer?

Find something you want to watch and start slow. My first roller ride was about 15 minutes of being scared to death that I was going to crash. Now, I think I could do a lot more than the 115 miles I did today. If I could just get rid of the last 40 pounds of fat on my body.

Well, actually it is in my basement that I am in the middle of a home improvement project, so it isn't the greatest place to work out, but still better than being outside with -30 wind chills.

But the technology was much better by the end, that the effects are so much better. I like them all for what they are and what they were at the time. The Bourne movies were much better for me and my riding time.
