i am pretty sure you need top pull high clamp. my sram x9 has been working great! don't forget to order a spacer if you need it for the frame.

sorry, mx - it was the "I'm pretty sure" that makes kind of want confirmation. I did google, and it appears that it's such a little detail no one bothers to make a distinction....

I'm guessing high clamp.
The XT that I have is a much lower clamp than that one. If this still doesn't help, buy both and return the one that doesn't work.

I've found the top swing, ( or "low clamp" as it's known in this thread ) to be the more universal of the two, as the bottom swing ( or "high clamp" ) sometimes can have issues with shock mounting, or bottle cage mounts.

Thanks for the answer. I was assuming it was something like that but wanted to be sure. I have no bottle cage mounts to get in the way so I guess the safe bet would be to go bottom swing although is there any advantage (weight / quality / durability) of going with a top swing?

Some bikes have shaped tubing at the joints, or pivots for suspension that could render a
top swing useless. I can't say that there is a set weight advantage or reliability
advantage to one specific design.
