What Should I ask for my Kona?
Hi
I have a 2003 Kona King Kikapu. This bike was $4,000 new. It has newer style XTR shifters, disc brakes, hubs, etc. Full XTR componentry
Thomson seatpost. King headset. Easton Bar. 317 disc wheels. Fox Suspension- F80RLT with lockout and rear RL with lockout.
It is in very good condition.
Thank you in advance

2007 King Kikapu MSRP is 1900, it could probably be got for 1100 may 1200 then you could add the higher end components later on or take the extra 800 or so you save and start upgrading right away.
Part it out but then again, there are those, shall we say unknowing that lurk on ebay/craigs list and would pay 2 or 3 grand for it.

Have you looked at what comparable bikes are selling for on eBay or craigslist? That might help you to focus on a general pricepoint.

a 2003 model anyhting should get less than 1000. probably less since you swapped parts etc., on those with heavy upgrades I just assume the frame is trash, which it probably is.

Actually, the King Kikapu is something that I watch regularly on Ebay since I have two of 'em. Even set up the way you have it, I would imagine the winning bid on Ebay would likely go for $600-$800. That's what I see happen. I think Craig's list might be a good place to start with the complete bike. Parting out on Ebay like someone said may indeed net you more money. The frame will get you on the average $150-$300.
Unfortunately used bikes never sell for anywhere near the orig. cost, especially more than a year or two old. Depreciates immediately off of the showroom floor, so to speak.

Thanks for the info.
I think I might just strip all the parts off this bike and build another frame, then sell the kikapu frame.

What size is it? And how much are you looking to get for it? A good price is whatever you personally need out of it...anything less than that and you'll kick yourself for selling it instead of keeping it.

It is a 19".
It seems like the only way I will get money out of the bike is to part it.
How much do you think the Mavic 317 disk wheels with XTR hubs are worth?
