What is this green stuff coming out of my fork?

I aired up my fox float RL up to 100psi today (my recommended is 70), didn't like the way it felt, and I went to let the air out to start over, when i did, about 2 drops of green fluid sprayed out of the air valve. Aside from that, everything seems to be working a-ok right now.

What was that??

It coulda been the shop grease. We used to use grease that was all green (I can't think of the name now tho)

I wouldn't think that it should be used on ur fork though... but I've never done a build or rebuild on a fork.

haha

Don't listen to those idiots, It's float fluid in the air chamber. A little bit escapes when the schrader valve gets depressed. It's perfectly normal.

What made you jump to conclusions that it was polylube inside of the fork?

I didn't jump to conclusions... I was just trying to think of something green that might have gotten in there on accident. I've never seen any green come out of my fork? Merely thinking out loud... it is a forum?

No worries...

What the hell do I know anyways... I wear a goddamn parachute when I fly!

My fox rear does the same thing. When new it had a bunch of gunk in it, now it's reduced.

Its most likely slime, if you ever pumped up your tires with your shock pump it probably "inhaled" some slime from the tires then got blown into the fork and came back out after it settled to the bottom, same thing has happened to me. Perfectly normal, if its an air suspension fork it may be best to turn the bike upside down so that the oil that is supposed to be in the shock is not being lost and sucked into your pump.

[QUOTE=elf 232;6309018]What do i seem clueless to you about? I know almost everything about bike building maintenance and repair, and have been completely correct in every one of my answers.
QUOTE]

That's not impressive at all. I can build and maintain a bike. I'm even good enough to be hired at a bike shop
