What have you forgotten?

I drove all the way up to Nicasio today to take a spin around the reservoir out there. I was loving the drive, it was a perfect morning for a ride, and the spring sunshine was absolutely unbelievable. I got to Nicasio, pulled over, started getting ready and realized that I left my shoes at home and the flip flops I was wearing just weren't going to cut it for a long ride through Marin county. And all I could do was turn around and go home where my shoes were sitting right next to my bedroom door.
Anyone else ever do anything like this? Or am I the only putz on a bike out on the road?

For the Davis Double, when I got dressed in the morning, I realized I didn't bring my bike shorts. So I ended up riding 200 miles in walking shorts.

I've got you beat. I drove to Portland, and forgot my bike shoes. I had to borrow a pair of platforms, and rode around in the Dr. Martens I was wearing.

Forgot my front wheel once. I loaded the bike on top of the car and drove off. Luckily it was still sitting in the driveway when I got back home.

Ha, thats nothing.

Two weeks ago I went for an early ride to try and beat the rain. I climbed a nice hill and descended down it. I figured it was still early so I might as well turn around and climb it again. I thought to my self, that road looks too narrow, but I turned anyway. I forgot to bring my common sense. Down I went and sprained my wrist and banged up my knee. I then had to go home, 10 miles away, bleeding from the knee and with a hurt left wrist. Worst 10 mile ride of my life.

Material/equipment wise, I once forgot to bring my frame pump. I have my patch kit and a spare tube. I ran over a goathead and flatted my front tire. I ended up calling a taxi and spending too for my stupidity.

Forgot my entire gear bag once, which included.

Computer / Water Bottles / Helmet / Gloves / Shoes / Sunscreen / Eyewear / Riding shorts / Jersey.

I showed up with:

My bike, flip flops, bed head hair do, pajama pants, hoody, and very dumb look on my face. Good thing I live in San Jose, and only drove to Mt. Diablo <---- OMG!

I went home after that and just ate a bunch of cookies, figured if I had already messed it up that bad, I might as well hit the trifecta!!

My last trip to Singapore I went on decent length rides (55 miles first day to Malaysia and back) and about 30 miles the second day.

Forgot my water bottle both days, not the best idea in that weather.

I think that's the worst I've ever done, forgetting my water bottles. When I get home I hang my helmet and shoes from the bike, and put my accessories in the helmet, so I can't even move the bike without everything being in the way.

Yep! A couple of years ago. Oddly enough, we were on our way to Nicasio as well.

We parked in the little town square area, and were about to pull out our bikes when I realized the box containing my helmet, shoes, sunglasses, gloves, & waterbottles was still on the countertop in our garage.

So we just drove around Marin and had a lovely lunch at Tony's in Marshall. BBQ oysters, yuuum.

I've forgotten my helmet, water bottles, sunglasses, shoes and even my gloves and jersey once. The best actually happened to a friend of mine when we were riding in Oregon. He showed up to a ride to the Stevens Creek reservoir without his bike.

This is the main reason why I prefer to ride to the ride.

The worst I've done was forget a my mini-pump for an mtb ride. That happened to be the day I got one of two flats on the mountain last year
