Going to be in Pensacola

I'll be going to a school in Pensacola, FL for the month of April. I'm bring my bike with me and would like to get in on some group rides and local races. Can anyone pass along some websites with further information and personal opinions of different groups and races? I am interested in all types of racing, crits, tt, etc.

Thanks in advance,
-Barry-

I live and ride in Pensacola (when I'm in town), but I've never been confused with a racer! Here are some references to get you started. First is a local bike club that has traditionally had its share of hammerheads. Many of these are training triathletes as triathlon seems to be much more popular than road racing here:

Second, here are some links to local bike shops that may be able to share the latest information on local races and hammerfests:

https://trulyspokin.com/ (they have a store in Pensacola now, too)
There is usually a criterium in downtown Pensacola every Spring, but I couldn't find the schedule for it quickly. Hopefully you will be here for it.
Since you are coming from WA, be aware that Pensacola is pretty flat (slightly better in the country north of town), and this is not the bike-centric community that you might expect from its location on the sunny Gulf Coast. It's not too bad to get around here, but most roads and mentalities are not generally considerate of bicyclists. But bring your bike and have fun!!! Hope to see you on the road, I'll be the one with buzzards hovering over.
