It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

I'll set the mood for ya'll. Friday night, I've got to leave in the morning at 6:30 to make it to North Georgia U for the collegiate race today. I have a few beers, to load up on carbs of course , and pack my car. I wake up in the morning and take off.

A 4 hour drive later, I'm freshly registered, number in hand, I go to my car to grab my stuff to change. Lo and behold, I must've had one too many last night, my bag is NOT in my car

Quick thinking reminds me that my racing buddy and teammate is doing the race tomorrow morning and he hasn't left Tuscaloosa yet. I call him, he grabs my bag, and he's on his way. Problem sorta solved. Turns out Georgia has some big storm coming through, tornadoes, hail, the whole nine yards, so they scrap the race anyway i missed nothing.

As I'm bored driving around the quaint little mountain town of Dahlonega, Ga looking for a Wifi spot to post a thread on bf about how the weather saved my ass, I spot the lbs.

I walk in, start chatting with a wrench, asking him about local rides b/c I want to ride when my stuff gets in town. He tells me the best news I've heard in awhile. I hadn't researched Dahlonega, Ga, and passed it off as just a cool little mountain town. Turns out there's some serious riding to be had here in the GA foothills. He tells me BRASSTOWN BALD is 25 miles that'away. I'll let ya'll figure out what i'm doing tomorrow after the race
