Need a bike vacation destination
Hey gang. My wife and I just got road bikes and would like to head south from Ohio tomorrow to get in some beginner cycling in warmer weather. Anyone know of a good place to go break in our bikes? Ideally it would be somewhere with a bunch of paved greenways where the weather will be at least 60F.
Any ideas are appreciated,
Mui

Any of the Rails-to-Trails projects would be ideal.
The Silver Comet Trail west of Atlanta is very nice, temps have been in 60's, but some rough weather last couple of days.

2 suggestions
1. Silver Comer Trail. 100+ paved miles in GA and AL. Rockmart lodging about mid-trail
2. Longleaf Trace. MS. 40+ paved miles. Hattiesburg to Prentiss. Lodging at both ends for two day out and back. Both trails have websites.

Try the Hilton Head Island area.
There are two good clubs:
Kickin Asphalt Bicycle Club (Hilton Head) www.kickinasphalt.info
Coastal Bicycle Touring Club (Savannah) www.cbtc.org/
Contact them for more info.

I would put a big second on both of those. My wife and I have ridden both trails in April after coming out of hibernation in Chicago. We plan to go back to the Silver Comet Trail this year the end of April.
