Brake Levers

Would it be possible for you guys to give me some pointers on the XTR brake Levers Versus The speed dial SL levers? Which on do you think is better? The XTRS have the servo wave thing that I'm not fond of. The speed dial SLS have the on the fly modulation adjustment. They will be mated to BB7s.

XTs are supposed to have ServoWave as well. I use SD7 levers and I'm pretty loyal to them as you can dial in the leverage. I am also intrigued by the Servo-Wave stuff. The problem is XT levers are $40 as opposed to $25 for SD7. So, if you find out, let me know.

I've used XTR, older Avid Speed Dial 5, and Paul's Lover levers with BB7 disc brakes and thought the Avids had by far the best feel. They're made for each other.

The whole Servo-wave thing was designed to improve performance with rim brakes...doesn't seem like it would be as useful with mechanical discs... You can disable the servo-wave action on my XT dual control levers...maybe the XTR's are the same way?

You can disable the servo wave. I might be able to get used Avid Ultimate Levers, so I might have to jump on them considering they are the bomb.
