Bottle cage recommendations

Can anybody recommend a good water bottle cage for a road bike? The one's I've been using (Aluminum?) are okay, except they grunge up my bottles.

I'm actually looking for something that I can suggest if someone asks for Christmas hints, so a $300 titanium cage would be out of the question, and I really don't like the looks of the plastic ones.

Thanks in advance,
'buzz

Bottles

Elite makes a cage with plastic pads. They have alloy about $10. or stainless about $20. Should do what you want.

Zipp makes a sweet looking Carbon cage for about $40.00, Stainless steel cages won't muck up your bottles as much for about $20.00 but I just use Cuzzi cages about $12.00, heck water bottles are cheap and I usually get free ones at bike races and promos.

Bottle cages

Nitto makes an elegant hand-brazed stainless steel cage. Pricey at $30.
ALE cage is chromed steel for $9.

Neither should leave black marks on your bottles.

Try a steel one, several companies make 'em and they last forever
