Beloki News

Cyclingnews is reporting that Beloki will not be riding for Liberty Seguros next year. He apparently hopes to be a part of Stayer.

I personally think that it would be good for him to get away from Saiz.

He may very well just be posturing in an effort to get more cash. However, I agree with you regarding Saiz.

Because Saiz is not the best tactician, evidenced by their results in the grand tours.

Besides, it appears to be already decided...

More Saiz Turmoil

There always seems to be confromtation and turmoil around Saiz. Cycling's tough enough. Beloki's better off at Stayer.

yep, for such a great team that he comes to the grand tours with, he doesn't seem to get it done tactically. You will see ONCE jerseys all over the front (on the race and in the classification) but they all die by the end of the race. Its been that way all the way back to when Johan Bruneel was racing on ONCE, I guess.

His managment of the ONCE team during the last Vuelta was a perfect example of Brent's post. Needlessly working his team to death and belatedly giving Nozal leadership of the team are just two examples of bad management.

I think Saiz is a genius when it comes to winning the team competition of just about anything he enters. The only thing he seems to be incapable of winning is the GC.

Which is a very good reason for a potential GC winner (like Beloki) to not want to ride for him. He rides the teams to death, but when it counts, they are gone. No support...perfect example was on the '02 Tour.

What did Postal finish in the team in the Tour and Vuelta, like fourth?

Nobody remembers the team competition...they all remember who is on the top of the podium.

He's apparently called off any negotiations with Stayer.

It appears to be a combination of money and his wanting to bring a bunch of riders with him. Reading a couple of articles, it looks like he may not be bringing an entourage with him.

Beloki and Siaz

I agree that Beloki is better away from Siaz, while watching the past few years of racing, he was allways doing things different then I would. I am glad others agree with me.

BLB was sort of the mouse that roared in The Tour. Sounds like they're serious.
