Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

want to ask: miyata alumicross

actually I am not into cyclocross racing, I only bike commute.
sometime ago, there is a local ad here in indonesia, selling a 90's miyata alumicross for just
70 dollars. too bad I was not quick enough, was sold already.
since cyclocross bikes are a rarety here, do you guys think it was cheap, and would an aluminum frame from the 90's still be good? (metal fatigue-wise, compared to steel of same year?)
thanks for answers..

Almost any cyclocross frame would be a good buy as long as you can inspect it before you buy it.

It's very difficult to predict fatigue unless you know the bike's history and can inspect the welds, joints and alignment.

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

I had one but it was too small so sold it. But they are awesome bikes (assuming they're in good shape).
