Number of Bike Fridays That Have Been Manufactured
A couple of months ago there was some conjecture as to how many bikes Bike Friday (Green Gear Cycling) had manufactured since its inception in the early 1990's.
Several of us guessed, but no one actually knew the number. An ensuing conversation with a knowledgeable Bike Friday employee resulted in the comment that they really didn't know the EXACT number due to several different computer systems and lack of serial numbers on some early models.
Well, we now have an "official" number. The 2008 Bike Friday catalog has an introductory letter from co-founders Alan & Hanz Scholz on page 2, with the following sentence: "We built our 20,000th Bike Friday last year!"
