Biker rides backwards across country

It looks like he's on a fixed BMX bike:

I met him at the bike shop where I work in New Orleans when he passed through there. Seems like a regular guy other than the backwards thing. My neck hurt just watching the video. Good-on-him.

in about... hmmm 1979 or so, I passed a fella biking backwards down HWY 6 in eastern Iowa. It was VERY strange to approach someone and realize they were travelling the same direction as you but FACING you!.

If I recall correctly, this fella had a small camera attached to a tiny TV that he used to guide himself. Yeah, at the time, that was not as common as it is today, but that's what it was all about. We chatted for a minute as we drove along. If anyone remenbers this guy, I'd like to hear more.

I saw this the other day and I think the guy was homeless which explains his choice of bicycle. He's cycling for a lot of good causes but he really needs a better system for looking behind. Maybe two large rear view mirrors?

I met a guy in the mid 80s calling himself "Wrong Way Wootin" who pedaled a bike facing backwards while riding the bike that was rolling forward. In other words, he was sitting backwards on the bike. He used mirrors and biked all over the country (USA).
