The Hardrock is in the shop!
Not for anything wrong, but to get some non-knobbies on it. I've been riding my FCR3 lately, but it just doesn't have the "hardrock" feel to it under my large self. Plus, when riding with the Mrs. and her Giant Boulder SE with 1.5s on it I still have to slow down so she can keep up, and she's much more fit than I am.
Ended up putting some Specialized Hemisphere's 1.95s on cheap ($14 a tire and since I Bought the bike recently installation is free). I was thinking Nimbus 1.5s but decided I liked the larger tire under me.
I'll use the FCR for my AM rides and my Hardrock with the new tread for the rides with my wife.

What's your weight?
I'm 230 ish (this week
) and went with the 1.5" Serfas Drifters on my 86 RockHopper.
It seems like a good balance between light/easy rolling and enough flex to kill road buzz and handle driveway "lips" etc.
I pump them about 5PSI over the 65 max.

be careful with that change, you might just forget about the FCR!
I'm way north of 230 still, but man are the 1.5 Nimbus 'dillos on my HR nice. Nice enough that I'm still planning on using the HR as a commuter even after I get my Long Haul Trucker (hopefully this week!). My HR does, however, need to go in for some mechanical work as the non-drive crankarm is shot and the rear wheel is slightly out of true.
But hey, I can still ride it and it's darn near 3 years old now with a hair shy of 2000 HARD miles on it. Can't complain too much, I guess
