Hello from Milwaukee!

After many years of little or no riding, it looks like this summer I'll be doing a lot more. I currently own a ~'00 Trek 7200 which I'm not crazy about but rides fine. I expect I'll be riding our two daughters to & from daycare each day (about 7 miles round trip).

Back in my early high school days I rode my Motobecane Super Mirage (later stolen) all over the norther burbs of Chicago, and in college I rode my Bianchi road bike (later stupidly sold at a garage sale) quite a bit around Menomonie WI, but since then not much. The Trek has not many miles on it.

I live on the south side - airportish in location.

Since I am, on a genetic level, a gear nut I'm lusting after & researching a new bike. I've been to many of the area shops, but I haven't yet found one that favors commuter bikes - everybody seems to be into road bikes. If you know of a Milwaukee area shop that's got commuters, I'd love to hear about it.

Not yet - still doing searches in the archives. I figured I'd ask as part of the intro, but I'd do more searching before starting a new thread about it. I'm not quite ready to buy yet, but shopping's fun!
