Hi!
I'm Tara, from Pennsylvania. I've been an avid bicyclist for most of my life, though I'm not your typical petite-sized sport cyclist in spandex (not that I think there's anything wrong with that, just want to make sure nobody forms any expectations about who I ought to be ) I guess I'm more of a European type cyclist - puttering around town with my kids in tow, though "town" for me is 8 miles away so our trip to the library and health food store is an 18 mile round trip! I'm here for some advice on making my trip with my kids a bit safer - I'll be starting a thread about disc brakes as soon as I figure out which forum is the right one for it.
Oh, and while I'm normally a grammar and punctuation junkie, a certain unnamed three year old spilled water in my laptop, killing my period and question mark keys. I can't stand to leave them all out, so I'm c&ping them; but if I get a little wonky with them, please forgive me!

if you're on a bike, you are our kind of gal. There is a Woman's Forum, you need to get the magic key to get in from a Mod. And we have all our regular forums. There is a Recreational and Family Forum that mgiht be able to help.

Welcome! And kids in tow too! Have a person in another Forum who writes quite funny and he always referred to the kids in tow as "Heads" as in many of the bicycle trailer type attachments you see the kids with helmets on, heads only. So we got to know his many funny stories as they started out with --- So I took the Heads out for a ride!
