Howdy

Newbie in the Dallas area here. I've been lurking for the better part of a month and finally signed up.

I知 a former avid rider who is getting back into after a very long layoff (15 years or so), and enough pounds to more than qualify me for Clyde status.

I知 currently riding an aluminum framed Puegot mountain bike that I have set up for road use as much as it can be. As the miles click by and the pounds drop off, thoughts of a road bike are becoming more regular.

Multiple knee and back surgeries are an issue, so that will play a factor in what I ride next. I知 not too concerned with anything other than being out there and riding right now, but as more time and miles pass I知 really getting excited about all things cycling again.

I値l have another intro posted over on the Clyde forum. I知 looking forward to learning and sharing info with everyone.

Hello Txvintage, I hope that your name comes true and that you will join us in the Classic & Vintage forum as well.

If you live in the DFW area, there's going to be a BF group ride soon--check out the Texas regional forum.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions !

Thaks for the welcome!

My Txvintage moniker is more a result of my hobby of restoring vintage European off road motocycles. That's not to say that I haven't checked out the Vintage Forum and gotten my interst peaked a bit. I find myself checking Craigslist and Ebay looking at vintage road bikes quite often these days. I suspect I'll be asking al lkinds of component compatibility questions when I find a likelyu suspect.

I don't think I'm a good candidate for a group ride just yet, unless you need someone to practice CPR on!

I live in Wylie, and it's not far at all from Celebration Park where the ride kicks off. I might try and make it by and say hello though. I work deep nights so my day time can run out pretty early sometimes.

Good for you! You can make the acquaintance of some of the nicest people on the board, and who can definitely give you a hand with anything vintage in the way of bicycles.

I wish I could join them--I know they would like to see this in person:

I'm just about to head out the door to ride this in a metric century today .
