I want a folder...

...that folds from a recumbent into an easy chair suitable for my living room.

That way I can get a recumbent without making extra space in my home to put it (just replace one of my chairs).

Being able to pass for a wheelchair would be a plus (though I doubt there's any kind of legal preference for wheelchairs when they aren't accompanied by disabled persons, I doubt most people/guards would question).

All you need is:

1) Folding bike of your choice (some are better suited for this than others).

2) https://www.cruzbike.com/conversions.html Recumbent conversion kit for your folder

3) https://www.amazon.com/Trail-Gator-Tr...795475&sr=8-12

Hmmmm. good idea. I hadn't thought of using the trailor gator, but I still don't think most folders will come out very well.

A recumbent that folds into a chair that's less comfortable than sitting on the floor would be a complete failure.

Which begs the question are there any decent techniques for homemade folding hinges? I would love to turn a lazy-boy into a tadpole trike with a small rear wheel that folds underneath.

You can sit on that while it's folded! Can you?

Here we go this:

might do,

if not then mixing it together with this idea:

should certainly do the trick

Problem is Bromptons are too freaking expensive to cannibalize.

I'm thinking practical here. Most folders take up the same amount of space as a typical chair. So why not simply have a folder transform into a typical chair? After all, regular chairs are so useful that a folder that transforms into one can never been in the way.

Couches are not so versatile.

It won't be a nice chair, but it sure is a nice recumbent that folds.
