Does sunshine help make the ride go faster? I noticed this morning on the way home from work that the sun seemed to make the day (a really chilly 1F) seem warmer and the trip home go faster.

Tomorow I commute to my real job, and it's going to be cold (maybe 5-8f), and the ride home promises to be colder (-12F), and real dark. I'm not sure I like that. The saving grace though is the Moon will be out, an is rather close to being full (I love riding under a full moon)!

I'd rather be riding in the sunshine than the moonshine. Just makes the day, the ride, the experience better.

Ya know, I always have more energy when the sun is out! Not sure, but I may actually be more plant than animal..

Riding under the full moon with a nice white blanket of snow apporaches a magical experience.

I hope you have some warming stops on your normal commute route. Your core should not be a problem to keep warm. Your extremities are another story. At the wind chills created by the bike moving thourgh below zero temeratures your exposed skin can freeze in under 30 minutes. Your toes can freeze or get frost bite much faster than you may expect.
