Hello from Kentucky
Actually I am from Palermo but we moved to the states a couple of years ago. My dad handed down one of his bikes, a Trek 1500, and I have been riding for the past couple of weeks. I am originally a hockey / football (soccer) / rugby player but this is definately a new thing and my favorite way to work out. Here in Kentucky there are a lot of painful hills and a mix of long stretches of flat road so I have plenty of variety when it comes to riding.

Hello Jusso, I have been to Kentucky, and it seems as if it would be a great place to ride. Lots of country, beautiful scenery. A bit muggy, but hey, you get used to it!
From Palermo to Kentucky--that sounds like quite a cultural shock .
