Dahon Speed D7 Telescopic Hanldepost Grip

My bike is only 8 weeks old and to my horror I realized my clip has some signs of bending. The little tiny knurled gizmo had seized and I was overtightening without realising. I was quite surprised that such a vital component could be bent so easily just using my bare hands. I bent it back to shape and adjusted things so that I have enough grip to be safe. Also my bike came from the factory with the rear wheel nuts completely seized. No amount of tapping, coaxing, WD40 and swearing has helped. All that is left is heating them up and I'd rather not do that as it can damage threads and so forth. I managed to repair a flat without removing the wheel but one day I'm going to have to fit a new tyre or tube and dont want to pay someone to get my wheel off for me.

Anyone had this experience or know how to loosen the nuts? I don't want to keep on with the brute force approach as I'll just grind the edges of my nuts - if you'll pardon the expression.
