Made in the USA doesn't always mean Made in the USA.
According to Bicycle Retailer and Industry News in June 2007, low-end Cannondales are made in Taiwan - probably by Fritz-jou. Others are welded and painted in Taiwan then sent to the US for assembly.
Your definition of “made in” is different from the bike industry’s definition. A typical rule of thumb is that the country claiming origin has to add 60% or more of the value of the final product, this can be done with painting, decals, assembly, ect.
I've read that the F series hardtails are made in Taiwan.

I wanted to know if anyone knows of companies that make hardtails that are made in the US, not overseas, and besides Cannondale.

Ventana.

"From their sexy CNC machined suspension pieces down to their smallest cable stop, every piece, of every Ventana frame, is painstakingly produced by Ventana. While other so called manufacturers market "Hand-Built, American" bikes actually built by large production houses in the U.S. and Taiwan, Ventanas are truly born and manufactured in the same region as the sport itself -Northern California. As long as you're willing to part with $1000 or more, there's literally hundreds of small frame builders that will supply you with a US built hardtail frame.

I stand corrected; running on outdated information. Appears last model year marked the last ones made in Golden.
