Sorry, A; just discovered that my headset's messed up (AGAIN). I'm doing Floyd Bennett on Tuesday.

So i just got back from Prospect. It was overall a good race; i threw a few attacks took some pulls. They gave a prime halfway through, me and 4 other guys went for it. One guys took off leaving the rest of us trying to bridge the gap to contest the prime. It ended up being a field sprint, and i got 20th out of the near 60 riders who showed up.

looking for a team to get serious with (I rode with my club's Unione Sportiva Italiana jersey). Fun race today and relatively easy with no serious attacks until the after the hill on the last lap and even those were put well in hand. I rode near the front for the last 2+ laps. I got blocked in the middle for sprint and ended 12 or 13 of 45. Best news was no CAT 5 crashes. 24.0 mph speed seemed easy. I don't know what pleases me more an ok finish or the relief of getting in without any incidents. Anyone know the speeds of the CAT4 and P123 races?

The average speed in the Cat. 4 race today was 25.3 mph. Numerous attacks and some sketchy moments on the final lap, but fortunately we all finished rubber side down.

There are ALWAYS sketchy moments on the final lap in Prospect. That screaming descent into the bottleneck at the bottom doesn't help. Thank your Road Nazi Stars the finish isn't by the temple where it used to be, 200 meters past the bottom of the hill. You've heard Phil Liggett talk about 'desperate moments' at the Tdf? When 80 testosterone pumped Road Nazis all want to get to the front through a roadway that will accommodate 10 of them 200 meters from the line at the bottom of a 40 mph descent on a curve with a curb on the right you can easily be ridden into at high speed - now THAT's a desperate moment. It's much safer since they moved the start/finish half a mile up the road.

That crash occurred right in front of me in the middle of the 35+ sprint. It was ugly. The Kissena guy who perpetrated it really rode like a friggin moron. Of course he was unscathed.

And, after all that, there were still about 3 or 4 morons who leaped over into the joggers lane in the 5's race. Unreal.

He SAID he got 'forced' into the jogger's lane. Uh-huh. More like he was trying to get position in the last 100 meters. I'm sure.

Pretty sure I remember you thirtstyman. I was sitting in about front 6 most of the ride and front wheel at the middle of next to last lap (Black and white castelli jersey). I finished 8th, it my first race. Also interested in local teams.......
