My new bike
1985 schwinn peloton.In near mint condition with one paint chip and uber low miles. ? is what should i do to make sure it hold my 270lb body good.Here are some pics and more will be added once It arrives this week.

Some bigger images would help. 
Watch the wheels, make sure the spoke tension is correct. Learn to "ride light", and this means to learn to absorb some of the hits with your leg muscles and kind of "unload" the bike on rough surfaces.
Pick your path for smooth pavement, where ever possible.
If you do develop wheel issues, get a set of Velocity Deep V's or Weinmann DP18's. I prefer the Velocity wheels, they are much better quality, but the Weinmann's are going to be $50 or more less expensive for a set. DT Swiss Spokes and a minimum of 32 spoke wheels.

Thanks for info. The guy I bought it from said wheels were true and tensioned good but i will not trust that.I will be riding on 90% super smooth roads. only will be on average roads for the first mile.Thanks for riding ligth tip,I have been trying to do that on my mtb and it seems to help the rear wheel.also sorry for crappy pics this is all i had to work with until it comes in next week
