If you raise your handlebars, do you have to readjust your derailleur?

If you raise your handlebars, do you have to readjust your derailleur?
It seems like you would, since the cable would be tighter. Is this correct?

As long as the cable housing stays in place, and you don't introduce sharp angles that make it bind, then no, it won't need any adjusting.
Making adjustments with barrel adjusters and whatnot don't move the wire at all, they just change the housing "length". The wire merely goes where it's guided.

In short....no
If you look at the way the cable housing is routed in the first section of cable it connects directly between the shifter, whether under tape on road bars, or exposed on mountain bike shifters, and then to the first cable stop usually located on the front of the top tube. Because moving the bars doesn't effect the length of the cable housing in this first length the tension on the cable remains unchanged. So move them any which way you'd like. It won't effect a thing
