Recycled Helmet Mounted Mirror ????

I ran across a guy a couple days ago who had a helmet mount mirror, made out of all recycled products. Hand made, he thought by someone in Ohio. The mirror stalk and helmet clamp was made out of a rebent spoke. He caimed it was the best mirror he has ever used.

He said the guy was a vendor at some bicycle ralley..... didn't remember where.

Does anyone know what, or whom, I am talking about? And, where these things might be obtained???

i was just pondering this topic the other night while riding! a spoke could make a great arm! heres one i found on instructables using a mission impossible/mechanics mirror. im sure there are some more ideas on that site.

are the mirrors typically beveled? a arts and crafts store nearby has a large assortment of small mirrors. not sure if they have anything other than flat though...

I know this response is two years old!! But, if you're still interested, or if someone else has come across this thread while searching for eyeglasses bike mirrors ... here's the information:

Chuck Harris (really neat guy)
Ultra Light Touring Shop
P.O. Box 363
Gambier, Ohio 43022
(740) 427-3404

Great product! Good luck ... I hope he still makes them. I'm in need of a new one.

Chuck is a cool guy. I have one of these mirrors and used it for about a year. It was actually a little big for my taste. It seemed to create a blind spot because of the size. It may not bother someone else. I ended up with one of these: https://www.bottlecapbikemirror.com/

Much smaller and I choose my favorite beer cap! Lol. Also made of a recycled spoke and bottle cap. My .02.

There's a review with pics of the CH mirror here: https://www.palmbeachbiketours.com/lo...arview-mirror/

I designed my own (eyeglass-mount), with favorable reviews by users, here: https://www.messengermirror.com/

After quite a bit of searching and reading reviews (and considering most of the other mirrors listed here), I ended up getting a Steady Eye visor mounted rear view mirror, and am very happy with it. Not recycled, but not factory-made, either. Compact, very secure mounting, easily adjustable yet holds its adjustment well, steady non-vibrating image, and nice solid construction.

Chuck Harris, RIP

Realizing that I have misplaced two of my Chuck Harris helmet mirrors and the third has a mirror head that has gone bad (Chuck used to sell replacements), I went looking for his address on-line, only to learn that he died in 2012. I bought all mine directly from him at century rides, mostly TOSRV. I will miss him and his mirrors.
