Hi from Eastern PA!
Hello Everyone!
I just happened to find my first childhood bike at a Classic Bike Restoration shop today and I'm SO excited!
I had planned on buying a new bike, as it's been years since I've ridden, and I found one marked FREE at the curb the other day. It's a 10 speed Ladies bike and the seat hurt my butt big time! So, I purchased a new cruiser seat, with no horn and installed it on this 10 speed. Well, lemme tell ya, I never knew how much that horn is needed! I feel like I'm falling off this seat! I was planning on raising the handlebars, too, as most of my weight is on my arms, and it's not comfy at all.
So, anyway, I was shopping today and ran across this place near me that restores classic bikes...and there it was! My first 2 wheeler bike! A 1968 AMF Roadmaster...turquoise blue...headlight...OMG, it took me BACK! So, I told the guy to NOT sell it to anyone but ME! He's not finished restoring it, so I know it won't go anywhere yet. But I need to help him find the front fender. It's chrome with that peak running down the middle. And I'd really REALLY like to find a white seat with gold trim, which is what I had on mine.
I'm so glad I found this forum! Maybe someone can help me find what I need, and then I can recap my adventures while I'm riding to you all!
My son, who is 13, is all ready to ride the bike trails around here...now I just have to get this bike! The freebie bike just isn't cuttin' it, but it at least got me interested in riding again.
Anyone here live in the Lehigh Valley area of Eastern PA?
Nice to "meet" you all!

Hi,
I'm from north of you, in Wilkes-Barre, but I know there are some people in the Forum from down your direction... I just don't remember who right now. Well, I do know Stacey is in Quakertown (a little south of you), she is in hospice care right now... but I know there are others too.
There is a Pennsylvania thread in the Regional forums where a lot of PA people checked in, you may want to read through there to see who is near you.

Hello ltreed, it sounds as if you are having a good time, what with finding a free bike, AND coming across a specimen of your first childhood bike .
Which bike did you find free? Any photos?
