Ride 30 - Silver Comet with a newbie who smoked me!

Quick report - went out with my neighbor and a friend to the flat (2% grade) Silver Comet Trail. My neighbor does not ride distance. She is on a hybrid type bike and commutes a few miles at best. Rides all over town (I am too scared to ride in that much traffic!). Anyway tonight was her first "long" ride and she smoked me. I had to struggle to keep up!(She is 27 but jeesh she was awesome!)

26.27 miles, 1hour 43 min 34 seconds 15.15 mph avg

yeah, sounds like you need to improve your "engine" (you) .

Once you get in better shape you will be able to hold a 20mph average easily.

All it takes is to get on the bike and ride (oh and a nice road bike helps).

When I started out I could barely keep a 12mph average with my road bike on a some what hilly 25 miler, now I average 20 ish , but only because I trained and trained (etc...) .

keep on the bike and HTFU
