Brooks Flyer

Is it worth springing (pun intended) for the Flyer so I could get the springs, or is the B17 comfy enough? I don't plan on being too crazy off the road, but chances are I'm going to hit some gravel/rocky dirt roads, and probably have to hit the grass for a bit. Purely an aethetic matter, but I do like the dark brown that the Flyer Special comes in rather than the honey it seems the B17 comes in (at least on Velo-Orange), so that's a point for the Flyer, but I'm just curious on how necessary or helpful the springs are.
