Montague folding mountain bike - pro and con?
@@ Montague folding mountain bikes - pros and cons??
@@@
I am researching a 26" folding mountain bike for next season. Folding is a must - for the boat, for the van, etc.
Uses - around town, bike trails, backcountry roads, jeep tracks, etc. Nothing too exciting. Just looking for a jeep with 21 gears that I can go off exploring with, then fold up and pack away when done.
Currently the Dahon Matrix and Montague Paratrooper are under consideration. Have I missed something else? Want to keep under $1000.

Maybe you should check a different forum. I have yet to see or hear about a folder on here.

anyway fuji doesnt make them anymore

Now I am cross-checking to see what suggestions might come up from different viewpoints.

Yes, the amazing Ronco! Perhaps a Swiss Army Pocket Bike? (I think Montague has that one included in their swiss bike series.
However, remember that not all of us are flying off 30' cliffs - or should - so we can be down-tech a bit and buy 21 gears, suspension, etc.
What is parked outside the library today, but two MTBs with touring kit and street tires. Shouldn't they be on something with skinny tires, etc.?

Well, we shall see how the Dahon Speed 7 does on some of the back country tracks there. The techie stuff I will leave for next season.
