Haha, I watched the video and the best line was that cyclists can "avoid strenuous exercise". I thought that was the whole point!

Making a kilometer blurry
I hate to think about spinning that gear in there endlessly when it's disengaged. Maybe it retracts?

edit: I misread your post - you are talking about when it is disengaged. I think most customers would probably ride with it engaged all the time.

Wow, I thought I invented that. Although mine was a motor in the bottom bracket fed by batteries in the seat tube. And plus, I never built it.

What, you don't ride fixed gears up and down mountains?
In either case pedaling on a downhill to store energy is probably a good idea, assuming decent discharge/recharge efficiencies.

Not really, it already has the batteries. If you're talking about using it for rollers you might be better off with capacitor energy storage.
