Well I certainly hope that the inclusion of air as part of the deal is in fact an error for
if air is about to become a marketable commodity I’ll have to invest in some air for my heirs and maybe some original fresh air saved in a bottle could someday become an heirloom. I can remember when we just took air for granted but I guess we’re at the end of that era now. I’ll err on the side of caution and logout now ere I get banned for bantering too much about air.

Worse yet, the actual list price in 2008 on a Sun EZ-1 was $680, not $900. If he paid $899, he got royally ripped.

What pressure? 100 lbs of pressure might be cool. But with that flat repair kit, if he's only including 2 lbs of pressure, that's a whole different deal.

By the way, never having tried to do it, do recumbents such as this fit on bike racks that go on the back of a car?

The Sun EZ1 might, as it is on the small side of this kind of design ... it is a "compact long wheel base" or CLWB bent.
The EZ1 SX is an "entry-level" recumbent. Slow and kludgy but easy to ride and relatively comfortable. It is aimed at people who want an easy to ride recreational / short distance commuter recumbent. The standard model has low-level components and a heavy'ish frame (high tensile steel). It serves its purpose and has a lot of happy owners, but if someone is more serious about cycling and plans to ride a lot of miles, there are better choices. You can do 25, 30, or longer rides on them, if you have the time.
It is the best selling recumbent of the past 4-5 years, by a fairly wide margin. Easier to ride and frequently selling for $500-$600 over that period. This is why you'll see more of them on the used markets than any other recumbent ... rivaled only by Bike-E recumbents, which were also a lower priced bike and were wildly successful (sales wise) before going bankrupt because of cash-flow problems. Some of the Bike-E models were nice and I think are frequently a better deal than a used EZ1.
They made a lighter aluminum frame version, the EZ-1 AX, which has slightly better components too. With the cushy seat the aluminum frame isn't bad. These are harder to find.

You need to be careful with a deal like that. Don't buy someone else's problem.
As the Olympics proved, China has a very serious air pollution problem. Part of their solution is to fill bicycle tires with polluted air and ship it to US.

They'll usually fit but you'll probably have to do some "engineering" the first time. A significant issue is the bugs and dirt that collect on the big seat. Many 'bent riders, if they're driving a significant distance, take the seat off and carry it inside the car.
