I have never been on a uni, or a muni, but i would *think* that muni would infact be harder then a standard uni... could be wrong tho

i don't have a real muni, it's a normal uni sort of converted (a bit) to a muni. i only have a 24 inch tire because you can only get 26" at unicyclesource(it's the only place i found anyways) and they're 250 bucks at the lowest!!

mine cost me 100$...a lot cheaper if you ask me.
i just put a knobby tire on it so it looks great now!

as far as my skills go.....i guess i'm not too bad, but i'm not that good either, i'm getting pretty good at trials, i love trials )
i can bunny hop higher than my friends can on a bike(but i can bunnyhop higher on my bike, so it's harder on a unicycle)
right now i'm trying to learn to go backwards with ease, i'm able to go backwards for about fifteen feet, the trouble is i don't have much control while doing this.

anyway i think i've made this post long enough, till next time.......gnein

hey, how r u?
well to anwser your questions, i can't go backwards 15 metres or idle yet. so i would be one level lower than watever level that is (i think i'd be level3...but i'm not sure and i'm too lazy to go check...but i never actually got tested)
anyway i just started unicycling in june...so i'm not that good, my biggest drop off is only two and a half to three feet.

i'm 19, i live near moncton, NB. hey y friend moved to vancouver this spring...i think the mountain bike trails lured him over there. he he

i try to ride off road more...so i can't do much freestyling, what i really wanted was a pashley or a DMatu, but i don't have much cash so...i ride a crappy unicycle...but at least i ride a unicycle!!
how old r u?
how long have you been riding?

by the way....great signature!!!

hey! coo

im 14,an have been ridin on an off fer like a year or two.
yeah, the north shore trails are insane! i wonder if your friend has seen kris holm ride.he is amazing!
im leaving for the unicycling nationals tomorrow; im flyin with my dad. also, how high can you jump up with your uni?
ive got the world record for high jump (my age) at 19" over the bar an i can jump on to something about 2 feet up. i also hold the world record for long jump (for everyone) at 1 metre,60 cm.

keep ridin

you rock!!!

holy mack....ONE METRE 60!!! that's crazy!! do you have to land well and keep on going on long jumps?
i can jump high enough... i can jump on something close to two feet, may be like a foot and eigh, ten inches...i don't know. i love doing trials...on bikes and unis, so i a bit better at those. for example, in my opinion my balance while riding my uni could be a bit better. altough my seat is too low...would that effect my riding...do u think??

i've only rided unis that had low seats, so i don't know the difference.

about my friend...i haven't spoken to him in a while...but i've seen a video of kris holm once...he rocks too

so do you ride off road much or do you do freestiling most??

i have nothing else to say now, so i won't say anything else now

hey

sorry about the face,dude lol
anyway,i mostly do trials,trails,an jumpin.
i only practice freestyle when i hav nuttin to ride on(like benches or tables). ive never been to the north shore trails though an im missin out big time.i normally ride with my seat low. can you ride seat out in front yet? it is a big help for jumpin, cause you can pull yer seat up higher than if you were sittin on it. yesterday i jumped over the high jump bar at 50cm! only 10 cm less than kris holm's expert class jump!

hey
you know...i've never really tried to ride with my seaat out in front, but i can stand still and get my seat out in front, when i jump, i'm not on my seat.
i like to grab my seat just like kris holm grabs his (it just feels better that way)

what size wheel did you say you had?

i understood thatt you hhad a 20 inch wheel, but you can't go in trails with that...it's too small...right??

i mean i have a 24" and i want bigger!

20 works

no man,i got a 20" an its sweet.i can tear it up on trails
and trials. i jus got back from the nationals an it was sweet! i know a guy named Dan Heaton, from Seattle,WA who set the world record for high jump 3 days ago! he jumped 80 cm!he also jumped 2.25 metres in long jump! i won for long jump and high jump for my age. an dan rides a 20" also

hey

how long and high did you jump at the nationals.
and you're from bc right...why would you go to the states for "nationals"...two different nations here...something does not jive?

when you pull out your seat in front, do you hold it with both hands, or just one?

o yeah!

SORRY!!!
i went to the national unicycle convention(NUC) in Adrian,Michigan.i jumped 54cm in high jump an 1 m 40 cm in long jump. it was a crappy setup though, cause last year fer long jump there were two hockey sticks instead of PVC tubing,so if you bump the tubing SLIGHTLY the whole thing moves.o well.and i hold the seat with one hand so i can balance with the other. im gonna set up a web site on trials unicycling in couple days(as soon as i get MS front page 2000 in the mail). that'll be pretty sweet.

also, me and dan heaton an adam ryznar r developing a new jumpin style called a "lurch" like in bike trials. ill explain it in the next post

c ya around
Dan

"lurch"

okay, a lurch is basically a moving bunny hop.
first, you move up to the obstacle you want to jump, about
2-3' an set the cranks like you r going to jump. next, you ride backwards about 10-15'. after this, you pedal as fast as you can an PULL UP! like yur arse is on fire. you are sitting on the seat the whole time! no seat out in front!
this is the method dan heaton used to set the world record an it works! i have jumped up a 75cm wall and this is my third day trying it out. this method not only looks the coolest, but also lets you hang on with the tire better if you dont make it up the whole way. i hope this helps. let me know if you find out any other cool tricks.

keep the peace
Dan

off topic, sorry!

Hardcore_uni, welcome to the forums, i just wanted to let you know that at any time, your more then welcome to start your own topic, hehe, maybe a topic like "how to jump a 75cm wall" or somthing, then post your lurch jump info there... This thread is getting well off the original post

Also, when you get your uni site up, make sure you edit your profiles so users of this forum can click on your link under each of your posts! have fun with the forums.

da da da

Well, kinda

This whole forum is the "mountain unicycling forum" this topics first post was "hey i am a novice unicycler and i was wondering if mountain unicycling is harder than normal unicycling????"

Its going just wee bit off topic now, its just easyer to find info in alot of smaller topics then one huge one

If your going to change the topic, yet still the muniing category, feel free to post a new topic, not a reply, thats all i wanted to get across.
