Help Please

I have decided to have a go at building my own bike

But have fallen at the first step.

I have a frame GARY FISHER BIG SUR 98 ALU FRAME 19" Fully stripped and resprayed, looks fantastic.

Now I need to buy a headset, I have tried measuring the frame every which way I can think of.

What size do I need**********?

I measured inside the frame and it is 34mm but all I see on my Ebay is 1" or 1 1/8" that is neither.

Any help would be fantastic, winter is comming and I want to order the part online today.

Many thanks in advance

Dave (Essex UK)

The sizes are not the size of the head tube. It's the size of the steerer tube on the forks. The diameter of the head tube in the frame goes along with that.

Or do you not have forks for it yet?

Measure the diameter of the steerer tube. Most likely to be 1-1/8".

The fork is 1 1/8.

You also need a 27.2mm seatpost
