What front rim for this clyde?
So I am done with the current one.. it just keeps failing on me. I am in need of a strong front road rim. The bike is a 2002 schwinn super sport. 700c tires and is my daily commuter. I am currently 270 lbs and do from 80 - 130 miles a week on various conditions. I was looking into touring rims as they seem like the best bet (and it's what I have on the rear) but I am always up for suggestions.

I like the Mavic CXP33 rim on the front. Not too heavy but strong. But since you have a touring rim in the rear, I'd have second thoughts. I may be wierd but a 23 mm rim in the front and a 21 in the rear would throw my mind off balance!
So depending on the height of your front rim....

The green would be sweet.. but from what I found it's out of my price range right now!

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

I wouldn't buy anything until you've had a chance to check out Veloswap this Saturday, however

If your new back wheel is working well then I would use the same type and builder. Back wheels are under much more stress then front.

What rim do you have on the rear? Go with what works for you, if your replacing a rim on a wheel that's breaking spokes, then at a minimum your replacing the rim and all spokes, decent front hubs are reasonably priced, so if the hole count is different, just add a new hub and get a new front wheel built, by the same guy that built the rear. If the old hub can be reused, then just use it......
