knee warmers and safety pins
I love my knee warmers but they never stay put. Not an issue during the fall as I just keep pulling them up. The winter, however, I wear nylon wind pants and I can't pull the knee warmers up. I'd like to keep the knee's warmer and have wondered if anybody has tried safety pinning knee warmers to lycra shorts. I'm not certain if it would damage my cycling shorts or not.
I could just buy knickers but would like to save money if I can.

Get the knickers.. I have had the same thought of using safety pins.. But, my Descente and PI's are over 80 bucks... I have no doubt lycra is not up to safety pins. Try rolling over a couple times- the ends of your leg warmers and put them under your shorts.

I think that if I had smooth legs, then the knee warmers I wear would stay up better on their own. But there is no way I will start shaving my legs.
Because they were always slipping, I learned to stretch them WAY up to the tops of my thighs before I pull on the shorts. Unless I climb a lot of stairs before I get on the bike, they stay put that way.
