I would like to know:
If I take one piece of a complete halflink chain, is it possible to connect it to a normal chain?
of course, the chains are the same size:1/8 wih 1/8

Yes. The the (usual) purpose of a halflink is to lengthen or shorten a normal chain half of a link to adjust chain tension.
