74 Raleigh Grand Prix
Picked this up day before Thanksgiving. Found it on Craigslist Chicago. A really bad picture and not much info in the ad. Turned out to be a gem.

Added a bell today

Really nice 1974 Grand Prix. Probably kept in a garage or basement as the paint and everything is just beautiful. I think I was the first to raise the saddle/ seat bolt is just about perfect. Needs tires but thats to be expected on a 35 yr old bike. I'll probably get a new saddle and some vintage brake levers, not to crazy about the suicide levers.

Can't you just remove the suicide levers without disturbing the standard lever mounts?

Bar tape is original!
And I finally have a shiny red bike, my boyhood dream. The condition of the paint job is really something. Even the drive side chainstay, that usually gets beat up, has just a few little chain dings.
The cranks have the original cotter pins with he Raleigh "R" on the nuts. Its also a Nottingham built bike, Feruary of 74, as per the serial number.

I had the green version of that bike, same year. It's a nice bike and yours is in exceptional condition. Great find, good luck with it.

Beautiful GP!!
If you are careful, you should be able to disassemble the levers without damaging/moving the bartape, the cut down the pins or replace them with the short style pins.
