The new Macaframa Video

Who here has seen the new full release from Macaframa? I saw it Friday night, and it was one of the best cycling videos ive seen, bmx videos included. And for those who just think the guys from Macaframa just do tricks, your sadly mistaken.

I think it's probably the worst thing to ever be recorded on video tape.

The only other thing besides tricks, that I recall, was people riding fast down hills or on regular streets.

haha alright, well to each his own. But if you think of how hard it would be to film some of that stuff (particularly that 5~ minute long shot of 150 or so rpm riding) its pretty impressive in my mind.

Well i guess it wasn't boring for any of those who were watching it in Phoenix, because everyone there loved it. I was only bored in one of the parts, (the third part) just because it was too long.

Oh i had a good time. I saw it here in Atlanta.
There was a some good music, some well done shots.
I guess fixed gear tricks and guys riding down hills just doesn't do it for me at all.

No way i'd actually pay money for this video.

I'd say it was a little better than Mash but pretty damn similar. I liked Keo and JSN's parts the best. Other than some stand-out stuff there was a lot of filler and boring "great, he's riding fast down a hill" stuff. The music was great though. I'll give it 8 out of 13.

Colin himself wasn't 100% happy with the finished product. But to see it become what is has from just a few homies ****ing around at the Island, it's hard not to be satisfied.

Also all the hype made everyone expect some insanely epic stuff.

If two things are for sure it's that, the music is incredible. And it is filmed beautifully. Anyone that disagrees has no taste.

Maybe I'm biased because a few of these guys are close friends and I support their creative endeavours. I'd buy two copies.

There's no interviewing or anything. Barely any talking in Macaframa.

i think it's pretty hard to capture the feeling you get while riding a track bike on film.

i saw it in seattle, sitting next to keo as he saw it for the first time.. you know yr doing it right when the haters come out..

it was great filming.. yes, i didn't care for a lot of the "he's going fast down market into the castro" stuff, but as a sf native, i enjoyed these parts simply for reminding me of home. i messengered.raced.trained on the streets used in the video for the last decade+.. so i recommend it..

**** man, for the soundtrack alone. quit hating, haters.. show me a link of the amazing thing you made..

Ive seen it twice, and I thinks its awesome. You have to ride some of those spots in the video to understand how steep those hills are or how fast you get.

The cinematography was great, each shot was framed beautifully, and the soundtrack was killer. For just a couple of kids to have made such a video is an amazing accomplishment.

I'm excited for the empire video. It's awesome to see the "pioneers" in mash and similar vids, but i want a view into New York's culture.

The MASH and Macaframa vids were tricks and riding fast downhill, and everyone thought they were dull. Why would doing the same thing in a city where there are no substantial hills be more exciting?

The only things that make cycling videos good, like A Sunday In Hell, is that there's context and interviews and things that make it compelling beyond the riding. Without a narrative, it works a hell of a lot better as two minute clips.
