Your Final Yearly Total Mileage?

I'm really happy with Gina. She finished with today's final ride of the year at 3,697 miles. Her goal was 3,000 but she she smashed it by 697 miles!

Mine is not over yet. I have this week off. 31 miles short of 5,000 but I'll easily get it by Wednesday. Not bad, my goal was 4,000 like the last couple of years. I smashed that by 1,000. Mainly trying to keep up with a friend on bikejournal who really unleashed a pretty mean arse whippin' on me as far as total.

On a sidenote, is there an ACTIVE Clyde club within bikejournaldotcom? The club I belong to now has fizzled down to inactivity and inconsistency. I need something to motivate me!

My, I feel almost sheepish posting my little total of 1,267 miles.

Of course, I'm a slow cyclist and go even slower when I take my husky for 30 mile runs. Still, it's a new high for me and I plan to break 2000 next year. *fingers crossed*

I don't know. I do a pretty piss poor job of keeping track. I could add up all my odo readings but I've had few dead batteries / computer upgrades.

I started in September at a shade under 250# with a rest pulse of 90. Now at 218 with a rest pulse of 62.
Been riding after work most weeknights in the dark about 15 miles and at least 40 most weekends -- so about that much.

My new years resolution is follow my wifes marathon training discipline and log my workouts.

That's plenty! I 'member the first couple years I did 5-600 and felt great about it. Then 2k, 3k, 4k,7k, then I came back down to earth!

I currently have 804 miles since I started tracking it on Sept. 24. I have this week off so I'll end up with a bit more, but not a ton.

5012 and change so far, but December, other than a very few miles have been indoors on the trainer.

On another note, the Spinner Saturday Group here in C&A have pedaled 129,993.28 miles to date for the year.

My year isn't over yet. I started logging at the beginning of December and I've had a lot of down time during the first part of this month and more riding than usual in the last several days.

Bike Journal currently shows me at 1.5 miles shy of 100. I should be at around 134 by the time I get home from work on Wednesday morning and I don't (yet) have plans for New Year's Eve evening so I'm not sure if I'll have more than that by the time the year rolls over.

I think I've got something over 2,000 miles for the year, but haven't kept track entirely, either. I just started on bikejournal late in the year (I'm GlacierChaser over there), and have 900+ miles logged there. Don't know anything about any clubs there, though.

Goal was 4000Km ended up with 4080km. I also count my trainer rides but seperatly and that will be just over 1000k buy Wednesday so total will be just over 5000k. I don't care if some say trainer miles don't count but if you live were I do you'd be counting them.

I'm at 1,967 miles from when I started in July. So it looks like I will get to 2k as the weather is supposed to hold for the next few days. Also am down about 25 lbs from my high of 255. I was just looking at some June pics and I was really looking bad. This bicycle thing is going well for me and it is great fun. I go by the same name at bikejournal

Edit: rode in truly ferrocious howling wind for 13.1 miles today (12-30) to complete my 2000. It was not fun but I made it.

last ride was about 2 weeks ago before the snow hit here in the Seattle area. i got close to 5k, maybe 4700+-. my goal was 4k, so i am pretty happy. i also took this down time to get both of my feet operated on, so i am out and off the bike until late Jan. 09. I am hoping to hit 5K+ in 2009, including at least 10 century. You know what, who care about the mileages, just get out and ride. Merry X-mas and Happy soon to be New Year everyone.

7700 and counting. I got 3 more days left of riding. Speaking of riding time to hit the the mild Texas 35 degrees and head to work. I have been slacking a bit since I broke one front fork and slid across the ice two days later so I'm not going to hit 8000 as I'd hoped since I almost hit my annual goal by Dec 1st.

My goal was 3500 miles of biking and I am around 4750 right now, and probably done for the year with the flu. I can hardly walk because of the aches, but I have to work the next 13 days, so I don't have much choice but to go to work.

I was hoping for 5000, but I doubt I get there, because I don't have time for two centuries on my rollers and then 50 more the following day. I guess my goal for next year will be 5000 and I will see where I get.

Unfortunately, I will only have in the hood of 2050. Work has taken a lot of my time this year and not as much time on the bike.

I'm at about 1250 miles for the year. I started commuting full time in May and I had to take 2 months off with a busted knee/broken collar bone.

I honestly have not tracked one single mile after my first ride back in May. All I do is ride until I don't want to ride anymore or have to give into a time restraint.

I'll be putting a computer back on each bike in the next day or so though. The lack of data is killing me.

I'm at 2,050. My goal was 2,000. I'm shooting for 3,000 next year. I plan to commute more to increase the mileage. I got an indoor trainer for Christmas but I haven't decided whether or not to count those miles toward my annual goal.

I just topped 2100 miles for the year, and there I am staying. My goal was at least three thousand, and possibly more if I rode across the US. None of that happened, for various reasons:

(Folks who don't take alcohol might want to stop here, since there's a lot of 'whine' below.)

- I had a mini stroke in January that kept me off the bike about three weeks because my doctor wanted to wait for test results. I resumed riding against my doctor's orders, reasoning that if God wanted to end my life He could do it any time, and I'd rather die on a bike than on a couch.

- I fractured a rib in June and that kept me off the bike five weeks. Add a depressive episode brought on by the accident and problems I had on tour, and my mileage was a lot less than I had planned or hoped.

- Mechanical problems with my rear wheel, and bio-mechanical problems with my saddle and pedals, reduced my riding quite a bit. I've replaced my rear wheel twice this year.

- My season ended early when I went into my usual winter funk. My increased sensitivity to cold, and the colder than normal weather here in PA, hasn't helped. Add in stress at work, including an unexpected layoff two weeks ago that just missed my department, and it's been enough to keep me off the bike six weeks.

1660 miles so far for the year and that is likely all the miles I will see in 2008.

I'm sitting at 3700, and I'll probably end the year at 3750. I'm happy, my goal was 3,000 and I annihilated it. I was gunning for 4000 at the end of November, but December ended up being much more unpleasant weather wise than I thought it would, and much more stressful than I thought. All miles this year were outdoors, but next year I'm seriously going to consider a trainer.

Also next year I'm going to go one route or another. Either I'm going to religiously track mileage, or I'm stopping tracking all together. Haven't decided yet.

I'm still not done yet! Planning to ride today and Wed as well. 3413.47 as of right now. I don't know that I'll break 3500, but I am going to get some more saddle time.

I didn't set any mileage goals; I just wanted to ride. Finally got over to Bikejournal and created my log over there. Entered yesterday's mileage on Orion, then did a couple bulk entries (one for Radagast, one for the one day I used the stationary at the gym, back in January not long after I got Radagast) for the rest of the year's mileage. So far: 2,784.58. And I should be able to get a good ride in on Wednesday before work.

Do people include spinning mileage? How do you calculate spin mileage from a bike at the gym, assuming it doesn't have anything connected to it that does this? Is there a rule of thumb for this?

You could just calculate some miles based on your normal avg speed and the time that you spend on the stationary. The problem is that the effort on a stationary is different for the same time than the effort on road. I wear a HR monitor so that I can get an idea of calories burned. Then figure the road miles from past data that burned the same number of calories. That's likely more accurate.
